As an eyebrow Artist you can paint your client's eyebrows in two different ways. With paint/tinting or with Henna. In this blog we help you create the most beautiful Henna Brows. Choosing the right henna color is an important factor in creating perfect eyebrows. Sometimes it can be difficult to determine the right color as there are many factors to consider. To help you, we have made an overview of what you should pay attention to before you start.
THE FOLLOWING POINTS ARE IMPORTANT TO ANALYZE
- Hair volume
- Hair structure
- Skin types
- Combi: Skin color & hair color
HER VOLUME
Does your client have a lot of eyebrow hair? Then the henna color will turn out darker. This is because dyeing with henna colors both the skin and the hair. If your client has few eyebrow hairs and the shape of the eyebrow contains many holes, it is more likely that the henna paint will be less dark on the skin than with eyebrows with a lot of hair. The hair volume determines how dark the henna paint will be on your client.
HER STRUCTURE
When choosing the right henna color, it is important to also look at the structure of the eyebrow hairs. If your customer has stiff eyebrow hairs, the henna paint will absorb quickly and there is a good chance that the color will quickly become too dark. That is also the reason why thicker hair needs less development time for the henna. Fine brow hairs are most ideal for henna brows because fine bristles allow you to create fuller brows, which is the main reason why people love henna brows.
SKIN TYPES
The skin type of the customer has a major effect on the henna result. Oily skin does not absorb the henna paint well. Henna therefore does not last long on oily skin. While henna works very well on dry skin. It is important to look at your customer's skin beforehand. For a client with oily skin, it is important to discuss in advance whether the desired results can be achieved with henna. The Brow Henna will certainly dye the hair perfectly, but the result of the henna imprint on the skin may be disappointing. With a client who has dry skin, you will probably have to check more often whether the henna paste has completely absorbed the skin. And don't get too dark. It is important that your client does not use a self-tanner or essential oils for the treatment, as this can cause oily skin, reducing the coloration. We always recommend using an eyebrow scrub for oily skin.
COMBI SKIN COLOR & HAIR COLOR
Before you start using henna, it is important to look at the natural hair color and skin color of your client. For example, if a client with a fair complexion wants darker eyebrows, you cannot just apply the dark brown henna on her eyebrows because the henna result will look very unnatural. For a customer who has naturally dark brown hair, the lighter colors will have no effect on the skin.

IS YOUR CUSTOMER COMING FOR HENNA FOR THE FIRST TIME?
if a customer is allergic to henna, a severe reaction can occur in the eyebrows. You do not want this and you can prevent this by doing a patch test. We always recommend this if someone is going to do henna for the first time. Wait 48 hours to see if there is no reaction.
