FAQ about glue
-Which glue is best for me?
That depends on different circumstances. Think of experience, speed, humidity and temperature.
- Does the glue contain latex / formaldehyde?
All our adhesives are vegan, cruelty-free and free of latex and formaldehyde.
- I need a glue with low fumes, which one is best?
Fast drying glues can have stronger vapors than slower drying glues. When it comes to our adhesives, the ICONIC is the adhesive with the lowest fumes, but overall they all have minimal fumes.
- Do you have a glue for sensitive eyes?
No, the main ingredient is cyanoacrylate which is in all adhesives. A slow-drying glue often contains less cyanoacrylate, but always a part and therefore someone who is really allergic will always react to a glue for sensitive eyes.
- Which glue has the best retention?
For experienced eyelash technicians, adhesives with a higher percentage of cyanoacrylate may provide better retention. The faster the glue dries, the higher the percentage. For good retention, pre-treatment must be carried out correctly and the adhesive must be properly stored. Factors such as level of experience, speed of treatment, humidity and room temperature can affect retention. In addition, good aftercare is just as crucial for retention
-Close my fans, is my glue too slow for me?
Assess your necessary conditions for your glue. Alternatively, you can try a faster drying adhesive or glue accelarator.
-Glue doesn't dry, why?
Your salon conditions can affect the polymerization of the adhesive. You can try increasing the humidity in the room for faster adhesive polymerization.
- Glue remains transparent, is that normal?
This means that your glue has not been shaken properly. Our Expert from the lash art pro collection does not require shaking but other brands and adhesives do and each adhesive must be shaken for at least 1 minute before using to mix all the ingredients. Make sure to shake the glue again with each use.
-Glue becomes viscous, why?
Make sure that the glue has not expired and that it has been properly stored in a cool, dark place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Ensure no residue of glue in the nozzle has been pushed back to the glue bottle - can ruin the rest of the glue. Wiping the mouthpiece with a (wet or fluffy) cloth will make the glue in the bottle viscous. Failure to properly close the cap immediately after pouring the drop of glue can make the glue viscous. Glue that has been opened for more than 8 weeks becomes viscous.
-How can I clean my glue spout?
With our glue whipes (it should be lint free) you can wipe the glue off the spout after each use. Store the bottle upright and gently squeeze any remaining glue from the spout if necessary.
-My glue spout is blocked, what should I do?
Pierce with a glue pin that is included with our glues.
-How do I store an opened glue?
The Thermopack or the Airtight container will protect your glue from moisture and it is recommended to store it in a cool place out of direct sunlight.
-Can I keep the glue in the fridge?
Never keep an opened adhesive in the refrigerator. The glue does not like the changes in temperature: keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, but not in the refrigerator where the humidity is high.
- Do I brush out a lot of eyelashes with a newly set set?
Check your pretreatment procedure and room conditions required for your adhesive. If you have recently switched from a syrupy glue to an aqueous glue, make sure to pick up a sufficient amount of glue on the extension when you pick it up as aqueous glue dries faster. You can also switch to a slower drying glue if this glue might be too fast for you.
- Can I put eyelashes on a pregnant customer?
Yes, you can put eyelashes on someone who is pregnant, but their retention may be different due to hormonal fluctuations. The customer is also more likely to have an allergic reaction.
- My client had an allergic reaction, can I redo her eyelashes?
No, because once she has developed an allergic reaction, she will have it in the future
-My client's eyes sting immediately after the treatment, what should I do?
Use a fan or Superbonder at the end of the treatment to reduce the fumes. Using the Superbonder helps the adhesive polymerize and reduce the irritation of the fumes. The Superbonder dries the glue from the inside and makes it more elastic. The advantage of this is that the retention will be better, vapors are gone quickly!
